An unusual black enamel wide mourning ring from 1831.. The pattern of the ring resembles 'black lace'.
The gothic script letters read 'in memory of'. The inner band has engravings ; T.J. Allen Esq. The ring contains the full English hallmarks : WK (makers mark), 18k, London 1831.
